It kinda deserves both the hate and the praise it gets equally. It would be a shame to let the gameplay concepts die with RE6, because this game didn't really execute them all that well.
Mixing them up, doing the chronological order, seem to prevent the game from getting too stale, at least it did for me.Īnyway, there's a lot of worthwile stuff in RE6 that I would love to see expanded upon, either in a new IP or another RE. I'm not a fan of getting downed after losing a block of health, even if it makes some sense as a balancing mechanic) seem designed around anything in the campaings.Īlso, playing the campaigns separately (meaning completing one before going to the next) is something that I don't recommend doing, mostly because campaigns like Jake's are a shitshow of setpieces and gimmicks and have very little core gameplay sections, and playing Chris' and Leon's can feel a bit too long and a tad repetitive despite not surpassing the 8 hours. I don't know what happened, but non of the fantastic mechanics (for the most part. It's not just the cinematic bulshit that gets in the way, the level design and encounters themselves, as well as enemy behavior, are also borderline trash. It's what surrounds that gameplay that seems to hurt the experience. Gonna keep playing and see how I feel, but so far I'm feeling good about the gameplay itself. The main thing I think the game needs to do is stop interruting the flow of this solid gameplay for cinematic bullshit. And the fact I don't have to babysit my coop partner makes it more enjoyable than RE5 solo so far. When I started to experiment with the melee system and my dodges and dives, I was having loads of fun against the onslaught of zombies. However once the game started to allow me to actually play it, I quickly began to see a fun game here. They have also completely ruined Leon as a character. Lots of QTE's and unnecessary cinematic bullshit. Why even bother with the illusion of player interactivity here? The game followed up with a lot of what I hate about modern AAA gaming. I was literally holding back on the analog stick to make my character move forward. The game literally opens with a quick time event followed by a slow walking section that forces you to go forward. Finished the first Leon chapter just now.
#Resident evil 6 pc lagging coop Ps4
Got this game in the PS4 January sale in the RE4/5/6 bundle. I heard nothing but bad things about it and I had little desire to play it especially considering how disappointing RE5 was as a solo game.
Right, so I avoided Reaident Evil 6 for the longest time.
